Manitoba Vital Statistics keeps a record of all
births that occur in Manitoba and can only issue certificates for births that
occurred in that province. Birth certificates are issued using the information
from the original Registration of Birth, completed at the time of birth.
A birth certificate is a primary identification document, which means it can be
used to obtain other identification. Birth certificates should therefore be kept
in a secure location, not in a wallet or purse.
This kit is designed to give you key information that will help you in your
Manitoba birth certificate application process.
